The Youth for Safer Communities Project
"We, the youth, have to take responsibility. We will have to live in the environment that we create now", with such and similar statements the learners from Masifunde deeply impressed me in their maturity. Masifunde's Youth For Safer Communities Project empowers learners with life skills training and extra-curricular activities to play a prominent role in their communities.
I was very happy when Masifunde and the Violence & Crime Prevention Programme (GIZ) asked me to make a short documentary on a youth conference where learners from all over Port Elizabeth thought about possible ways to make their schools and neighbourhoods more safe // produced in Janurary 2014
